Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American chef-turned-tv personality, as well as a former teacher of the Institute of Culinary Education. The host of her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook will show you how to master easy methods and her signature spikey blonde locks. Chef Burrell has also worked in several of the city's most prestigious eateries, studied Italian cuisine and its traditions, and participated in Food Network Iron Chef America. As a youngster in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her following graduation with an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communication in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The student says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every day." It was impossible to learn and do enough or put in the hours. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. It was during this time that her experience in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, and has made an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids with disabilities. As a guest speaker and mentor, she travels around the US to talk about her love for cooking and professional career. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate to be able to be able to share her passion for cooking with the people around her.
